Nice but quality control needs improving

I bought this table to place behind a sofa. I like the attractive design and the ease of assembling (just a matter of inserting 4 wooden plugs and 8 bolts). Overall the quality was good, but I was compelled to rate it “Poor Quality” because when assembled, it wobbled on a flat floor, and out of the box, the top of the table was damaged—one corner was chipped about the size of half a Quarter, plus another edge had a scuff with the varnish worn away. Everyone notices the damage. This is a quality control issue because the box it came in was not damaged in the slightest, and the corners of the table were protected by extra padding. What annoys me is that it must have been shipped from the factory this way. Why would you ship a damaged item from the factory? We’ll see what Hayneedle says about my table. Of lesser concern is the disappointing color. It’s not “Cappuccino” as indicated on the website. It’s more of a medium walnut. I would recommend to friends based on the attractiveness and the price paid, but with reservations. I’ll give Hayneedle the benefit of the doubt and assume that my damaged table was a “one off” and the next one will be delivered in perfect condition!
