Perspex Clip Frames (70 x 100) – Awful product, far too flimsy, will not hang correctly.

Ordered this product to display a map of the world in landscape mode. Have used several of these types of frames in past and they have been satisfactory.

Very disappointed with this product and the reason was easy to see.

On a glass frame the glass is the strength by which the shape is kept. On previous perspex frames I have had although the backboard may be thin the thick perspex keeps its shape like the glass does. The product remains in shape.

On this product the backboard/hardboard is far too thin by miles it bends all over and the perspex is also so thin it has no strength in it so again it cannot retain its shape when hanging. Tried hanging product using two hanging positions which were not satisfactory and then a one nail hanging position with string between the two hanging posts, that was worse. The whole frame just dropped and hung off the wall in a mess.

Huge gaps beween the perspex and the picture also mean you are likely to get spiders or flies hiding it there where you cant get at them.

To force this frame to keep in shape I had to glue to battons of thin wood across the back top and bottom, leave overnight and then rehang the next day. I would have returned the product had I not got a family gathering that weekend and wanted to show off my picture.

With over 200 good reviews to my name on Amazon I think this is the first time I have had to write a poor review but I have to admit this product has major design faults which could be easily addressed by using thicker materials or inclusion of own battons to keep the shape when hanging.
