Miracle from Hollywood.
Like so many of these titles, I’m thrilled to see them in the theater and I bring them home and they seem to lose a lot of their original impact. Jennifer and the young actress that plays her daughter are excellent and honest in their portrayal. (Isn’t she the “little girl” in the car seat that gives a little twirl of her finger for her dad to take the new automobile literally around for another spin?) I liked the inclusion of the doubters and false accusers and the faithful Hindi physician that was at the top of his game, but could not really find a cure. The fact that even he was open to a miracle and took it in pleasant stride was quite profound. At the end of the film, the real family is introduced with slight biographical updates. Yes, it was based on actual events with some characters as composites and others invited in order to tell the true portions of the story more easily. I believed the mother’s love and the rest of the family dynamics.
