Great playback features

** UPDATE: The alternate decoder now plays my H265 videos again in HW+. I’m not sure what changed, whether my fiddling got it just right, or it was the recent Fire OS 5.3.2 update. I now have no reservations on this player. Does everything I want.

Works very well for compressed h264 and pretty well for h265. Earlier in the year (2016), I was able to apply hardware acceleration for h265 videos for my Fire 7 Tablet (2015 version). Now, later in the year, those same videos are reverting to software mode, and I cannot seem to get them to play with hardware acceleration. I haven’t been able to figure out why. I guess I’ll start converting everything back to the inferior h264, even though the Fire 7 claims it can handle this format at the hardware level.

Beyond the above issue, its still my favorite player. No other player handles display and playback features better, that I’ve been able to find.
